Visit our outdoor farmer's market on Fridays from 3-7pm from June 11 - October 8 with local NY grown or produced products. Support our farmers and purchase local corn, squash, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, blueberries, flowers, perennials, ice cream, baked goods, cheese, organic beef and hot dogs, crafts and wine tasting. 
July 2 - Chicken BBQ and live music by Lil Mill
July 23 - Hots & Hamburgers, Kettle Corn & Gift Basket Give-a-way
Sept. 3 - BBQ and live music

Vendor Info:
Each market booth is a 12’ x 12’ space and will be assessed a rental fee of $10.00 per market day.  If you rent for the full season (14 weeks) rent is $110.00, paid in advance.  Full season vendors will be entitled to a “reserved spot.”  Allocation of spaces will be done on the first come, first serve basis.  Call or email Donna Lahr for vendor application.

History of Montezuma Winery

For more than thirty years, George Martin had been a bee keeper. George, along with wife, Virginia and son Ed, maintained and built a honey production and pollination business which contained two thousand hives and took place in Maine, New York, Florida and South Carolina.

In 1998 with dropping honey prices and increasing costs the family now with son Bill, began niche marketing their honey. Bill had always dabbled in mead making and home brewing. The Martin Family applied for a farm winery license in 1999 and commercial production of honey wine began.  Soon after Martin’s Honey Farm and Meadery in Sterling, New York was born.

In 2001, the Martin’s realized the importance of their location in the fruit belt of New York and decided to try their hand at making fruit wines.  The concept of Montezuma Winery was then formed.  Montezuma Winery quickly took off and was a great success, so much so that we moved the production facilities and gift shop to our 14,000 square foot building in Seneca Falls.  Although we do produce high quality grape wines, the focus of our product line is still towards fruit and honey wines.

Both Montezuma Winery and Martin’s Honey Farm and Meadery have been awarded numerous awards including Gold, Double Gold, Best of Class, Best Fruit wine, and Commercial Mead Champion. Our wine list offers a range from dry to sweet and include Riesling, Merlot, Blueberry, Rhubarb and our most popular, Cranberry Bog.

Our Vision

Always looking to expand our offerings, the distillery was added to feature premium liqueurs, plus vodka and brandy made with honey, apples, or other seasonal fruits.  Custom-built in Germany, our 400-liter Christian Carl column pot still has 2 columns consisting of a 4-plate column for high end brandy production and a 21-plate column for premium vodka production.   Being the first of its kind in the Finger Lakes region, we’re proud to be a pioneer in the field of artisan distilling in New York State.  Each batch is a hands-on process and takes on a more artistic form producing high quality premium spirits. 

After 2 years of lobbying in Albany and with the constant support of Assemblyman Bill Magee and Senator Mike Nozzolio, New York State passed legislation allowing us to legally offer vodka and other distilled spirits in our tasting room. On October 11th, 2008, Hidden Marsh Distillery opened with the release of BEE Vodka, the first Ultra Premium Vodka distilled from honey in the Finger Lakes.

Tasting Room & Gift Shop Hours & Fees
The tasting room and gift shop are open Daily from 9am-6pm (Closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day).  
Wine tasting fee is $2.00/person or $4.00 for our souvenir wine glass incluing your tasting.  
Spirits tasting fee is $1.00/sample or $5.00 for a Brandy Snifter including 1 sample.  NOTE:  Due to the high percentage of alcohol in spirits, New York State law limits the amount of spirit tastings to three (3) 1/4 oz. samples of spirits per person, per day.
Please be prepared to show a valid form of I.D.
